Mount Royal Academy

Divi | Web Development | WordPress

Overview

Mount Royal Academy needed a website that matched the quality of their school — and one their staff could actually manage without calling a developer every time something needed updating.

Their existing site was built on October CMS. It worked, but it wasn't easy for non-technical staff to maintain, and after 10 years of blog posts and school archives, the content had piled up. The site needed a fresh design, a simpler backend, and a careful migration of hundreds of posts and archived pages that had accumulated over the years.

The Work

We rebuilt the site from the ground up on WordPress with Divi, giving Mount Royal Academy a modern design and — more importantly — an admin experience their team can navigate on their own. WordPress was the right call here. The staff needed something familiar and approachable, not a system that required a learning curve every time they wanted to post a news update or edit a page.

The bulk of the behind-the-scenes work was the content migration. We moved hundreds of old blog posts and school archives from the October CMS installation into WordPress, making sure nothing got lost in the transition, and integrating FacetWP for instant searching and filtering of posts. A decade of content is a lot to account for, and getting it all into the new system cleanly — with proper formatting, categories, and URLs intact — took real attention to detail.

The end result is a site that looks current, loads well, and puts the school’s staff in control of their own content. No more waiting on a developer for routine updates.
